Main role (Overall accountability)

Plans, directs and controls the operations of the credit administration department in order to ensure that all credit facilities approved by competent authorities are secured as stipulated, accurately recorded and input into the system with exceptions monitored to avoid losses to the Bank.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Scrutinises the approval of credit facilities and arranges to issue the offer letter to existing and prospective clients laying out the terms and conditions of approvals as per procedures prescribed in this regard.
  • Responsible for the return of duly accepted letter of offer by the clients and timely completion of securities in liaison with the Account Relationship Managers. Ensures perfection of the charge document wherever necessary by verification of signature by reference to account mandates and authority of signatories and by registration where applicable as in the case of mortgage of property and pledge of shares.
  • Directs the recording of all charge documents in the appropriate register and responsible for the safe custody of the documents as per control procedures prescribed in this regard.
  • Make available facilities granted after compliance of the terms of approval. Exceptions if any to be referred to relevant authority for approval. Conveys the approval of credit facilities to branches, wherever necessary.
  • Permits the temporary withdrawal of securities if deemed necessary on approval by the relevant authority and ensures their speedy return.
  • Confirms presence of charge documents for existing and proposed facilities in credit proposals considered for approval.
  • Monitors exception reports on a periodical basis to ensure that facilities availed are within limits, competent authority has duly approved excesses and irregularities are rectified without delay.
  • Directs the preparation of credit statistics, credit information, replies to inquiries, other reports and returns as stipulated to regulatory agencies and branches in a timely and accurate manner. This includes the cheque returned statements and the advance statements.
  • Monitors exception reports, obtains necessary explanations for overdues and advises the concerned to classify and take appropriate action.
  • Monitors the media and Government gazette for official notices, which may have a bearing on the Bank or its customers and advises appropriate action to the competent authority.
  • Reports facilities granted on authority delegated to different levels on a monthly basis for ratification by the competent authority.
    1).Bachelors Degree / Diploma in Banking with over 10 years experience in credit admin functions of a bank. 2).Good communication skills in English / Arabic language (preferred). 3).Good Interpersonal relations with pleasing personality.
