JOB : IT Support Technician

Our Client is a leading Multi-National Oil and Gas Company

·         Supporting the IT Infrastructure of Kuwait, Troubleshooting and resolving/escalating issues pertaining to Systems and Networks.

 ·         Providing level 3 supports to users only when an incident is escalated by the Weatherford Service Desk to the respective country Service Desk Queue

  ·         Management of Service Desk incidents on a timely basis whereby delivering support to users based on the defined priority of the incident.

 ·         Installation and configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of computer desktops, laptops and software, associated printers and peripherals, network access, and network client software such as email and assist both Technical support specialist levels I and II with all issues unfamiliar to them.

 ·         Configuration of Exchange clients using Microsoft Outlook 2007/2010 including personal folders, offline folders, multiple profiles, rules etc

  ·         Installation and configuration of software such as PDF, Project, Visio, AutoCAD etc.

  ·         Installation and configuration of Weatherford proprietary applications such as Windchill, Orbits, Hyperion, JDE, RAMS, Pro-E etc.

 ·         Installation and configuration of tools such as Juniper Network Connect, location specific ISP connections for clients to be able to remotely use network resources such as email and network drives

 ·         Identification of viruses, spyware, adware and research for resolutions such as critical patches to halt virus spread outs over the network.

 ·         Provide IT support to remote locations using Systems Center Configuration Manager remote tools.

  ·         Upon request assist Network and Communication team with configuration, installation, and maintenance of network related hardware, software, and services such as file servers, print servers, gateways, and connections to external resources

  ·         Troubleshooting and problem solving of structured cabling systems, active network, core/edge devices and wireless access points with coordination with the Network team

  ·         Respond and complete IT support requests channeled through the Weatherford Service Desk on a timely basis. Perform tasks to be determined, consistent with administrative, technical, and physical constraints of the position. Must be able to work overtime dependent on work load.


• 2+ years’ experience in Desktop / Server support or equivalent • Experience maintaining hardware and software in Desktop environment • Experience supporting System Software Management (SCCM) queries, reports and other various task sequencing projects • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Arabic language is an added advantage
