Job Description

Reporting to: Manager – Accounting Advisory Services

 

Job Summary: Accounting Advisory Services is responsible and accountable for managing all operations of the Accounting Advisory Services Department including but not limited to client portfolio management, proposal development, client report reviews, implementation of accounting controls as well as ensuring that all activities of the Accounting Advisory Services Department are in compliance with the Company’s accounting policies & procedures and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Policies & Procedures

  • Ensure implementation of the company’s set policies & procedures in order to achieve the Accounting Advisory Services Department’s objectives.

 

Accounting Advisory Operations

  • Manage all activities of the Accounting Advisory Services Department and ensure that all activities being performed are in-line with the company’s accounting policies & procedures and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Identify opportunities and contacts that will lead to growing the business, convert prospects into company’s clients, and own the full sales cycle and negotiation through to the transition of new clients to the Accounting Advisory Services Team.
  • Take ownership of all Accounting Advisory Services Contracts from start to finish and ensure that the minimum required resources are always available to finalize all existing projects as well as sufficient to meet the demand for all future projects.
  • Utilize financial analytical skill sets to review, investigate, and analyse all components of a client’s financial infrastructure and recommend solutions in the form of services that can be provided by the company to rectify identified gaps in the client’s financial infrastructure.
  • Take part in kick-off meetings in coordination with the Senior Advisors & Advisors and maintain excellent relationships with all clients from the first day of kick-off to ensure that maximum client satisfaction can be delivered.
  • Develop profiles for all new clients, develop chart of accounts for the clients as well as prepare/set the full workflow for all new clients to be followed by internal teams as well as client’s accounting team.
  • Ensure that all deadlines promised to the clients are being met and plan, schedule & organize work of the team in order to complete tasks within designated timelines while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with internal teams to follow-up on project status, provide feedback based on reviews conducted on the work of the team and recommend solutions to eliminate identified obstacles that may slow-down the project.
  • Apply learning from one client engagement to the next and share learning with fellow team members in a continuous basis to ensure that errors & technical issues are kept to a minimal level for all client engagements.
  • Conduct reviews of work prepared by the Advisory Team, provide them continuous guidance and direction as well as solve any complex accounting issues that may be faced by them.
  • Manage the timely preparation of financial statements, balance sheets, income and expense reports, and cash flow analysis, in addition to the supporting schedules to assure timely completion according to the monthly close schedules set with the clients.
  • Strengthen client relationships and generate additional engagement opportunities through excellent quality, timely execution and a strategic approach to service delivery with the main focus on maximum client retention.
  • Review the accounting system on a continuous basis to ensure that all key information and data such as bank statements and other important documents are being uploaded within set guidelines.
  • Conduct regular reviews of data submitted to the clients in order to reduce the margin of error and maintain continuous communication with the clients for activities including but not limited to clarifications on issues, bank transfers missing documents, answering queries, workflow process as well as submission of any reports requested by the clients.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for finalizing & closing all external audit related requirements of the clients such as providing general ledger accounts related information, documents, registers and any other reports or information requested by the external auditors.

Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or any related field is a must.
  • Master’s Degree in Finance Accounting, CPA CMA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 6 – 8 years of experience in the same or related field.
  • At least one year of experience in a Managerial Position
  • Ability to build and maintain solid working relationships with all levels of the firm and client personnel
  • Good Communication skills both in Arabic & English
